ONMYRADIO........Musiq Soulchild

So December 9th, Musiq's fifth album ONMYRADIO came out and wow........Musiq's first single "If U Leave" featuring Mary J. Blige is typical Musiq in concept and style..........(back to my wow reference) "Radio", the second single is completely different from his sound.  The song begins with Musiq repeating "Aye, Aye......" which is synonymous with the ATL sound but what about Musiq's soulful Philly flow.  I am a huge Musiq fan and I'm not completely sure about this album.  "So Beautiful" and "Until" are definitely favorites of mine, they have been on repeat since I've heard the album.  So, since I am such a Musiq fan, I had the opportunity to meet him and recieve his autograph.  I almost didn't meet him but thanks to the great people at F.Y.E, I left happy!!!!  He was very nice and joked around with me.  When I started walking upstairs to meet him, I overheard him say to a man that he wouldn't be taking anybody else.  I was distraught but he started laughing once he saw my face and said he was only joking, and gave me a hug!!!!

"That's not what life's about, don't stress it," Musiq said after I explained to him about my busy week at school.

So, we spoke for awhile and I asked him would he being doing anymore theatre work.  He said that he would be doing something in the future "cause this music thing"........him being a creative person he wants to do more things.

Meeting him sealed the deal and completely reaffirmed my love for Musiq, he is such a great artist and person.  Listen to his album and you might like it, his past albums are definitely enjoyable.

***Fashion FOCUS***

Not only has Musiq's musical style changed a bit but his clothing has completely changed.  I love the new look!!! He still wears glasses which is his signature accessory but he has adopted a more sophisticated grown man look.......vests, ties, button ups.  It is a nice tailored look.  This new look also has a slight edge with his new fade that gives him a low mohawk.  KUDOS to celebrity stylist Renaldo Nehemiah, who is a new young face (25 years old).  I will definitely have more info on him in the future.

Q-TIP: The Renaissance- A 20th century Harlem Renaissance

Renaissance–(noun) a renewal of life, vigor, interest, etc.; rebirth; revival: a moral renaissance

Exactly, Q-Tip's new album is nothing less than the definition of renaissance. Who better than Q-tip, Harlem native to lead true HiP hOp fans into a revival of simply GOOD music. The overall feel of the album is classic with the use of old sounds and beats. Simple, nothing overdone. Long lost D'Angelo adds life to the album over smooth guitar strums with the song "Believe". Funky, is probably how my counterpart would describe "Life is Better" featuring Norah Jones. This head boobing song consist of Q-Tip reciting the names of many artist old and new.......J Dilla, Weezy, Leaders of the New School, Outkast and plenty more. The album is great and definitely a must have keep in your collection never let nobody borrow composition.
